Bond Street station upgrade was the modernisation and expansion, to allowed for an extra 30% capacity in preparation for the new, Elizabeth Line. A full refurbishment was carried out in sections to allow the station to remain operational.
Client brief
Laing O’Rorke contracted Coljoint to assist them with the final 5 meters of the LVAC distribution submain cables, our package consisted of dressing the cables, glanding and terminating 256 SWA cables from an LVAC switch panel to the new field distribution boards situated throughout Bond Street Station.
Coljoint also took the lead to installing the new 800a supply from the UKPN building into the main Switch room, Coljoint completed the cable installation and termination of the 8 x 1000mm single core cables and 630mm main earth connections.
Project delivery
- Glanding and terminations of 256 SWA (steel wire armoured) cables ranging in a selection of sizes from 4mm 4 core to 240mm 4 core cables.
- Lugging & terminations of main incoming feeder cables into the station which were a mixture of 8 x 1000mm single core cables and 2 x 630mm single core cables.
- Termination of earth cables installed onto earth bars of various sizes.
- All cable were continuity & insulations resistance tested with findings recorded.
- Cembre crimping tooling & Lugs were used throughout.
